Biography
ARUN SHARMAN – OUT-OF-THE-BOX ACTIVIST POET PHYSICIAN
Arun Sharman is an out-of-the-box activist, poet, and physician, who is also a playwright, painter, photographer, novelist, short story writer, and musician, and is a columnist in the most prestigious English daily in the country the Times of India. He has penned 69 books that include the finest, first-ever, the only coffee table books of their kind, painted 2, 500 Mount Abu canvases, has more than 2, 00, 000 photographs of Mount Abu, and has penned, and composed 2, 500 songs. In past ten years, most of the recent publications, exhibitions and concerts have been done by Prowess House, India-Canada.
He has planted lacks of trees, and has been instrumental in getting Mount Abu notified as an Eco-sensitive Zone and in getting buffer zone, getting buffer zone around the foothills of Mount Abu. He donated blood 175 times. He has been running a Sunday free clinic for the poor at Mount Abu for more than 39 years. He was instrumental in bringing to health the suffering blind center of Mount Abu. He probably is the rare person who sings songs on piano, penned and composed by him. He was instrumental in holding the first-ever Bird Festival of Mount Abu, the first-ever Literary Festival of Mount Abu, and the first-ever International Theater Festival of Mount Abu, revving the game polo after 75 years, and bringing back to pages of history the lost tale of the great King of Sirohi, Maharao Surtran, after 500 years.
Sharman's Activism
In 2002, with the help of Honorable Justice of the Honorable SUPREME Court, Mr. Rohinton F. Nariman, he worked for getting Mount Abu declared as Eco-sensitive Zone. For this he had to suffer the ire of the entire town, at personal risk, both professionally and physically, but he stood steadfast, unwavering and finally saw that Mount Abu was Notified Eco-sensitive Zone on 25th. June 2009. In the same breath the Honrable NGT gave in his favor on 10 March 2021 and for another PIL the Honorable Supreme Court gave a land mark decision in his favor on 12 January 2022
In 2005 he was nominated as a member of the Local Empowered Committee by the Supreme Court of India to monitor the implementation of its order for Mount Abu to be an “Eco-sensitive Zone”. In 2006 April he was instrumental and played the leading role, together with MK Sirohi Shri Daivat Singhji and the SDM of Mount Abu
Arun Sharman has been actively involved in advocating for social justice, environmental conservation, and educational reform in underprivileged communities.

Helped in preparation of the first ever calendar of Mount Abu in 2007 for 2008, which was released on 31 December 2007. In 2008 he released “Arbud Geet” an anthology of environmental songs, selected by Hon’ble Shri S. K. Singhji Sahib, His Excellency the Governor of Rajasthan, which was not only forwarded but also released by him in a magnificent function. Coffee Table Book, “Jaisalmer The ninth Capital of Lord Kisna”, 2009 and the petit novella Autumn Love” 2009. Redeemer of Gods, 2010, a play in four acts, staged at St. Joseph School in 2009, and 378 copies of the same procured by Raja Rammohan Roy Library Foundation, Government of India in 2011 and also by The Library of Congress, USA, “Hope against Experience” short story anthology 2010. “Vatsaly Ka Mausam” – Hindi anthology of poems – 2012; “Adhron Ke Tat Par” anthology of Hindi lyrics; “Curse of the Love Lake” a musical play in three acts in English – 2012., 2013 the first Chapbook in Mount Abu in India, “AAkraant”; 2013 Vegetarian Soups released by Mrs. Tarla Dalal, the mother of all cookery books in India, at NAB India, Warli Sea Face, Mumbai. In 2013 itself he released his Hindi Haiku collection dedicated to his mother -Akshay Durg! 2014 former solicitor general of India Rohinton F. Nariman released his final play in trilogy of Mount Abu – “Abode of Gods” (The Play). In 2014 on 26 July he released his coffee table book, “Epitome of Tribal Gaiety”, a photo essay on Gracias for the first time in the world! 2015 Singapore Sling a coffee table book on Singapore. 2015 poetry anthology “Fear and the Frightened”. His 52nd. book his novel skylights was released at Crossword Meethakali, Ahmadabad by Padmshree Prof. Dr. Anil Gupta IIM Ahmadabad on 07/02/2016. On 28 July 2016 he brought his ambitious coffee table book “POEMS IN MARBLE – THE DILWARA SPLENDOR”, the first ever coffee table book on the splendor of Dilwara temples, reviewed as “unbelievably superb”. Buoyant with the success of the book he followed it with yet one more virgin book the first ever coffee table book on the pride of India, the Chittorgarh Fort, titled, “CHITTORGARH – THE AMOR PROPRE”. In 2017 “Epic in the Sand and other Poems” released, an anthology dedicated to the men and women in uniform. 2019, English poetry anthology – OUR CLARION CRY! His romantic novel ERCHI THE FLAME was the first ever book, to be launched on line from Mount Abu, on 22 November 2020. In 2021 February 16 saw the global launch of ARBUDANCHAL – THE ALMA MATER OF LORD RAMA, the first ever coffee table book on Mount Abu.

Medical Career
He is a doctor by profession and runs a private clinic at Mount Abu, Rajasthan. serving people of mount abu and across the glob with his tele medicine .
He has been several times elected as a president of Indian Medical Association.There he also runs a ‘Free Clinic’ for the poor and the tribal and in the past twenty seven years, he has attended to over five hundred thousand patients free and distributed free medicine worth thirty million Rupees and has arranged for free operations worth several hundred thousand rupees and has also started the Mount Abu chapter of PFA (People for Animals). Till 1995 he had donated more than 175 units (bottles) of blood.
